Following a hugely successful worldwide tour, Electronica innovators Kraftwerk have confirmed the dates of two summer shows in 2023.
June 28th sees the group at King John’s Castle in Limerick, followed by their show at the Trinity Summer Series in Dublin the next day.
The group, whose founders Ralf Hütter and the late Florian Schneider started the group in 1970, had reached international recognition by the mid-'70s for their fresh and innovative compositions.
Experimenting with robotics, synthetic voices, computerised rhythms, and other technical innovations, Kraftwerk have gone on to influence an entire range of genres including electro, hip-hop, techno and synth-pop, and paved the way for the 21st century’s digital age soundtracks.
Beginning with a chronological exploration of Kraftwerk’s sounds throughout their career over eight consecutive nights at the MOMA in New York, Kraftwerk have recently returned to their roots within the Düsseldorf art scene of the late Sixties.

Their original MOMA presentation was followed with further performances at Tate Modern Turbine Hall (London), Akasaka Blitz (Tokyo) Opera House (Sydney), Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles), Fondation Louis Vuitton (Paris), Neue National Galerie (Berlin) and Guggenheim Museum (Bilbao).
Among their accolades are the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, received in 2014, and in October of last year, the electronica project were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
