Thirteen years after she was forced to cancel her headline gig at the music festival, Kylie has been confirmed for Glastonbury 2019.
Due to appear on the final night of the Glastonbury festival in 2005, Kylie was forced to cancel her headline slot to undergo treatment for a breast cancer diagnosis, including surgery and chemotherapy. Basement Jaxx replaced Minogue's slot that year, with fellow act Coldplay performing a cover of "Can't Get You Out of My Head" in tribute.
Now, thirteen years later, the pop icon has taken to Twitter to announce she was "thrilled" to reveal she would play the 'legend's' slot at Glastonbury on June 30th, 2019.
I’m so thrilled to announce that I’ll be playing the ‘Legend slot’ on Sunday 30th June at @GlastoFest 2019. It will be 14 years since I was originally meant to appear there and so much has happened up to now. I can’t wait to see you all there to share this special show. pic.twitter.com/wHAiBs54Cx

This will mark the first time she plays a solo set at the festival after she took to the Pyramid Stage in 2010 to join the Scissor Sisters as a guest star on their song "Any Which Way".

The teatime slot on Sunday usually draws in the biggest crowd, with past performers including Dolly Parton, Tom Jones and Lionel Richie.
In June of this year, Kylie revealed she would love another opportunity to perform at Glastonbury.
"When I was supposed to do it I think I would have been the first solo female to headline in however many years it was," she said. "So I was really proud of that at that time. Obviously, it didn't happen. So yes, it would be amazing and very emotional to be standing there and doing what I didn't get to do all those years ago, for sure."
"I think I'm better equipped to do it now actually. Since that time I've done quite a few festival gigs and outdoor shows and I absolutely love being out there".
In October Kylie was forced to cancel her Golden tour dates in Dublin and Belfast due to a throat infection. She took to Twitter hours before she was due to perform, writing “I’ve been trying everything possible to be well enough to perform for you but a throat infection has led to vocal strain. I promise I’ll be back as soon as possible and at 100%.(The Guinness will be on me!)”
Sure enough, the pop princess rescheduled her shows in Ireland earlier this month wowing audiences with "a glitter-disco extravaganza" and "extra Christmas vibes".
