All funds raised from the purchase of 'Saithnín' on Bandcamp will be donated to Samaritans of Limerick and Tipperary.
Electro-pop duo Kyoto Love Hotel - formed by Joe Geaney and Laura Sheary in 2018 - have shared a brand new track after being named as one of Hot Press' Hot for 2021 acts.
'Saithnín' marks something a little different for the outfit - commissioned by The Source Arts Centre in Thurles. All funds raised from the purchase of the song on Bandcamp will be donated to Samaritans of Limerick and Tipperary.
"As Gaeilge 'saithe' translates as swarm. 'Saithnín' explores the idea of the swarm as something positive, as togetherness," Laura says of the project.
"The result is part poem, part song and part instrumental. Rather than focus on literal meaning, we approached it as an exercise in atmosphere and scene setting."

Through Joe Geaney's evocative melodies and Laura Sheary's introspective lyricism, the band produces a unique blend of reflectiveness and dance-ready alt-pop.
Busy building up a repertoire of dreamy tracks, Kyoto Love Hotel's recent Grow EP again mixed introspective lyrics and catchy melodies to stunning effect. They’ve played Electric Picnic and completed an Other Voices set, but are looking ready for a bigger stage.
