Ahead of its music video premiere later today, Labrinth's new single 'Never Felt So Alone' dropped yesterday, featuring the unearthly vocals of Billie Eilish
Labrinth, the British hip hop artist Timothy Lee McKenzie, dropped his single 'Never Felt So Alone' yesterday. Listeners will be pleasantly surprised to notice that it also features the iconic and unearthly vocals of the American singer Billie Eilish.
Listed as a composer and lyricist for the track, she's also joined by the acclaimed songwriter FINNEAS, Eilish's brother and longtime collaborator, who is listed as a producer.
The music video for 'Never Felt So Alone' comes out today at 5:00PM GMT. The trailer for the premiere has been live since Tuesday and fans have been going wild across social media platforms in excitement.
The duo's team-up was teased back in December at a concert, with Labrinth making his way on-stage during one of Eilish's Happier Than Ever, The Hometown Encore shows. On Twitter, he shared a video of the performance, captioned with a nod of thanks to Billie and her producer brother, FINNEAS.

Recounting the story of how he pitched the song to Eilish in an interview with Eddie Francis on Apple Music 1, Labrinth reveals how he discovered that the 'Ocean Eyes' singer was a fan.
"She was like, 'Lab, I've been listening to your music for years.' I was like, 'What?' It was like, 'Billie? What? You?' She was like, 'Yeah, been a fan.'"
"She was like, 'I love this song as well, so I would love to do it with you.' That was big for me because I felt like we both get each other musically. It didn't feel foreign to me, and I love what she's done on the record.'"
It's not the first time that the hip hop super-producer has worked with other stars. A couple years ago, Labrinth collaborated on Kanye West's Jesus Is King after releasing his second album Imagination & The Misfit Kid.

'Never Felt So Alone' comes after Labrinth's 2022 singles 'Iridium,' 'Kill For Your Love,' and 'Lift Off' and the release of HBO's Euphoria's second season's score. An acclaimed composer, his work on the Euphoria soundtrack and the single 'All Of Us' has won him the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics.
It also comes out over a decade since Labrinth's debut album Electronic Earth released in 2012, which then went on to hit number 2 on the UK charts. Now, fans eagerly await his third studio album Ends & Begins.
For Eilish, 'Never Felt So Alone's' release comes after her 2022 singles 'TV' and 'The 30th,' in addition to her 2021 album Happier Than Ever and its following tour.
Speaking of performances, Labrinth is set to appear at Coachella this month on Saturday, April 15th and Saturday, April 22nd. Other acts set to perform at the festival include Ireland's own The Murder Capital.
