Lana Del Rey has announced that her next album will be a country album.
Last night at Billboard's pre-Grammy event in Los Angeles the American singer-songwriter, Lana Del Rey, revealed the plans for her new LP entitled Lasso.
She announced that she has been collaborating with Jack Antonoff, producer and frontman for the Bleachers as well as Luke Laird, well-known country music maker.
This will not be the first time Del Rey has dabbled in country music. In December she released a cover of ‘Take Me Home, Country Roads’ by John Denver. She has also performed Elvis’ song ‘Unchained Melody’ at NBC’s Christmas at Graceland.
Lasso will be Del Rey’s first official country album. At Billboard’s event she said “if you can’t already tell by our award winners and our performers, the music business is going country. We’re going country. It’s happening.”
This will be Del Rey’s 10th studio album after her latest release last year, Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. Specific information about the album has not been released yet.

However, on her Instagram on January 18, Del Rey did release a clip of an unreleased track entitled ‘Henry, come on’. This left her fans in a tizzy, commenting thoughts like “country era is coming,” and “Ah, so is this what you’ve been cooking up here down south? 😍 Sounds absolutely beautiful! Xx”

On top of the release of the new LP, Del Rey is set to headline at many major festivals this year. Del Rey will be performing at festivals such as Reading & Leeds, Primavera Sound, Hangout Festival and Coachella.
