Tickets for the Dublin four-piece's Vicar Street gig go on sale this Friday.
Lankum, Dublin's favourite folk miscreants, have announced a major Irish headline gig for later this year. Building on the success of 2013's Cold Old Fire and 2017's Between the Earth and Sky, the group have enjoyed a triumphant 2019, with their highly anticipated third album expected in late Autumn. They have now revealed that they will return to Dublin for a headline show at Vicar Street, on Friday, October 25.
Comprising of brothers Ian Lynch (uillean pipes, tin whistle, vocals) and Daragh Lynch (vocals, guitar), alongside Cormac Mac Diarmada (fiddle) and Radie Peat (harmonium, accordion, vocals), Lankum channel a diverse set of influences and histories to create beautifully rare folk music. They also took home the award for Best Folk Group at the inaugural RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards last October, while Radie Peat was crowned Best Folk Singer.
As well as an appearance at the Donegal International Folk & Roots Weekend in Letterkenny on July 12, Lankum will play a series of gigs in America later this summer, including a slot at the legendary Newport Folk Festival at the end of the month.
Tickets for Lankum's Vicar Street gig are €25.00 (incl. booking fee), and go on sale this Friday at 10am. See Ticketmaster for more information.
