The Irish group releases one of the best tracks in their catalog ahead of album release.
Today the Dublin four-piece Lankum has shared with us their new single entitled, 'The Young People,' a melancholic number that plods along ever so patiently. It's one of Lankum's finest tunes and most meditative tracks. The song is classic Lankum, melding contemporary folk with traditional Irish instrumentation.
Set on a Dublin morning, the single is accompanied by a music video showing various people's shoes. This enhances the song by painting an image of citywide malaise. Regardless of whether it's posh business boots or paint covered sneakers on your feet, we're all going through it. Overall, its a poignant take on mental health.
'The Young People,' is in anticipation of the group's third studio album, The Livelong Day, which is slated for release on October 25th. That's also the same day they're set to gig at Vicar Street.

Additionally, due to high demand, Lankum has announced yet another show at Vicar Street on January 4th. That gig will follow an extensive European tour, so you know they'll be sharp.
