The Irish Women in Harmony member is gearing up to release her highly-anticipated EP.
Today, alt-pop sensation LAOISE has released her latest effervescent dance pop track,‘Gravy’. Written and produced by Laoise, Seán Behan, Richey McCourt, mixed by Darren Heelis and mastered by Fergal Davis, the track follows ‘Healthy’ and ‘Movies’, all of which will feature on the Galwegian's upcoming EP Healthy.
‘Healthy’ was the first taste of a shift in musical direction for LAOISE, highlighting her at her most authentic. ‘Movies’ expanded on the ideas in the track, exploring the singer-songwriter's newfound sense of self. LAOISE calls the ethos of the tracks ‘main character syndrome' – essentially comparing herself and her life to the unrealistic versions of people and experience we see in the movies.
With the release of ‘Gravy’, Laoise celebrates her infectious, giddy and outgoing side. “For me, 'Gravy' embodies the idea that you can enjoy big moments without having to take it all too seriously or to overthink it," LAOISE explains. "Which is something I struggle with. I mean, I don't think there's any better compliment than being loved as much as one can love gravy!”
