The rock legends will unite on Paranormal
U2’s Larry Mullen Jr. is one of a number of stars due to guest on Alice Cooper’s newly-announced 27th studio album.
Paranormal is Cooper’s first record in six years and is also set to feature ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons and Deep Purple’s Roger Glover.
The album is set for release on 28 July and comes after the rock legend signed a new record deal with earMUSIC.
Cooper’s long-time producer Bob Ezrin suggested the collaboration with Mullen Jr, he said on US radio show Trunk Nation.

In preparation for the collaboration, Mullen asked to see the lyrics, saying “‘I play to the lyrics, I don’t play to the bass,'” Cooper explained. “And I said that is so cool, just the idea that you’re interpreting the lyrics on the drums. It totally makes the album another album.”
Paranormal will feature 12 tracks and will come with a bonus CD that will include three songs written and recorded with original Alice Cooper band members Dennis Dunaway, drummer Neal Smith and guitarist Michael Bruce, alongside some live recordings.
Cooper brings the album tour to Dublin this winter, hitting the Olympia on the 8 and 9 of November - and with no U2 dates scheduled for then, perhaps there’ll be a guest appearance on the cards.
