The Grammy-winner has denied the allegations made by a former employee
Organisers of RTÉ's Late Late Show pulled plans to broadcast a Garth Brooks cover after the country music star was accused of rape and sexual assault.
Set to feature as part of the show's annual Country Music Special, artists gathered at the station's headquarters in Donnybrook on Thursday to pre-record the show, which was set to include a rendition Brooks' track 'Friends In Low Places'.
“The bosses had a decision to make when the story broke online, so after weighing it up they decided to drop plans to perform the song,” an RTÉ source told the Sunday Independent .
Brooks has denied the allegations made in a lawsuit filed by an ex-employee, with reports suggesting that the singer has been accused in the US of rape, sexual assault and battery.
The lawsuit states that the woman in question (identified as "Jane Roe") was working as a hair an makeup artist for Brooks when the alleged rape took place.

The accuser alleges that in May 2019 Brooks asked her to travel with him on his private jet to a Grammy tribute in Los Angeles. Upon arriving at the hotel, Brooks had only booked a single suite for them both to share, according to the legal action.
The lawsuit alleges that once inside the hotel suite, Brooks appeared naked in the doorway of the bedroom before he raped her. The lawsuit continues to state that after the alleged attack, Brooks continued to make sexual advances on separate occasions.
Brooks has since responded to that claims in a statement to the BBC which reads: “For the last two months I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a cheque for many millions of dollars.”
