Laura
Where Scissor Sisters had previously been the sorcerers of the instant dance-floor classic, ‘Laura’ is disappointingly lightweight.
After the hugely infectious disco anthem ‘Comfortably Numb’, Scissor Sisters’ latest offering is a curiously plaintive affair, a sonic comedown from the heights of Manhattan hedonism. Where they had previously been the sorcerers of the instant dance-floor classic, ‘Laura’ is disappointingly lightweight. Surprisingly, it’s the single remix (a ‘Riton Re-rub’ as they have called it, the scamps) that outshines the original.
