Lauryn Hill has joined fashion house Woolrich to work on their new fall line.
Their autumn/winter collection will be titled "America Soul Since 1830".
Hill designed multiple pieces for a capsule collection - including a coat with the album artwork for The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill printed on it.
In a short video to promote the collection, Hill visits a neighbourhood in Washington Heights. She enters the Harlem Theatre - where she filmed the iconic music video for "Doo Wop (That Thing)".
A stream of text passes over the screen that explores Hill's creative influences and her love for soul. She writes, "American soul music is to me a contiuom, a tremondous legacy of tradition if you will, that communicates loves survival - through hardship, suppression and other challenges. It is love....adapting, resisting, expressing, covering and reconciling".
The 'Ex Factor' singer was heavily involved in the creation of the line - designing up to 30 jackets.

"She marches to her own beat, and with this project she got to completely show her instincts as a creator. So much of her vibe is in the pictures, it’s so cool" says stylist Mel Ottenberg. "These pieces have been part of the American vocabulary for over a hundred years, and they are definitely part of my soul as a stylist, and Lauryn’s identity".
The Woolrich line will be available across Europe and North America.
