Each track on the album is dedicated to a different love-interest, set for release one week before Valentine's Day.
Kyle Falconer, lead singer of The View, announced the release of his third solo album The One I Love The Most – out February 7.
He dropped the second single off the project yesterday, titled ‘Grace.’ The song is a reinvented version of the opening track from The View’s 2011 album Bread and Circuses. Falconer also announced a series of in-store performances and record-signings beginning in February, followed by a UK tour in March.
“Grace has always been a bit of a cult classic for the fans, so it’s class to be able to break it down and add a bit more of a raw feel to the song with the focus on the lyrics,” said Falconer.
The self-produced album includes music from Falconer's back catalogue, spanning nearly two decades. Each track, named after a different woman, addresses themes of love and loss.
“The One I Love The Most came from an idea I had after getting my own studio in Spain. I thought about all the girls' names I had written about and thought it would be a great romantic idea to put them all in one place and release the record for Valentine’s Day,” said Falconer. “I wanted to show the songs as they were without all the production and we captured the first essence of them.”
The title of the album was inspired by a lyric from ‘5 Rebeccas,’ the second track off The View’s 2009 record Which Bitch?. Two other acoustic covers of The View’s collection are featured on the new album, including ‘Claudia’ and ‘Dixie.’ Falconer released the first single ‘Angelina’ last December, and will receive a feature from Manchester rapper Prose on the track ‘Lucy.’
