The musical duo said that they were honoured "to be part of the revival of a label that has such a strong history of great Irish music".
Irish alternative folk duo, Lemoncello share their new single ‘Harsh Truths’ on Claddagh Records – their first to be released with the iconic Irish label.
'Harsh Truths' is a melodic folksy track, featuring dramatic vocals and harmonies along with fast paced guitar plucking, making for exciting balladry.
Speaking on their new single, Lemoncello say: “We wrote ‘Harsh Truths’ as a sort of conversation with someone who is not really there, or not emotionally present. It became a conversation with the self, the multitude of different voices inside ourselves that guide our intuition.”
The new single arrives today in conjunction with the announcement that the musical duo are signed to Claddagh records which the musicians Laura Quirke and Claire Kinsella – A.K.A. Lemoncello – say is an honour: “We are honoured to be releasing our first album on a roster of artists that we love, and to be part of the revival of a label that has such a strong history of great Irish music.”
Lemoncello are known for charming their listeners into an enigmatic world of intimate observations and uncomfortable questions paired with their irresistible folksy charisma, and musical chemistry.
The rare alchemy of the duo’s voices together pairs with the warmth and grit of Kinsella’s cello, and distinctly underpinned by Quirke’s cyclical, trance-like guitar playing makes for Lemoncello's distinct sound which can be heard on the new track.
