Ever since debuting this past weekend, Kanye West's 'Famous' video has been a constant source of controversy.
The highly provocative video is a voyeuristic look at various naked celebrities including Taylor Swift who is Lena Dunham's close confidant.
Many have been waiting on an uproaring battle to ensue between the celebrities featured in the video but it's been eerily quiet. No official statements have been issued by Rihanna, Amber Rose or Taylor Swift about their thoughts on the video or whether they were even consulted by West in the first place. However, Lena Dunham, GIRLS creator and star took to her Facebook account to reflect her thoughts on 'Famous'. The song itself makes specific reference to her close friend Taylor Swift as West boasts; For all my Southside niggas that know me best/ I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/ Why? I made that bitch famous (God damn) / I made that bitch famous!
In the video, the Blank Space hitmaker is seen lying inbetween Chris Brown and Kanye West.

Now, Dunham has made her feelings clear on the video stating that it 'gives her such a sickening sense of dis-ease'.
A victim of sexual assaults in her own life, author of a feminist newsletter and a strong activist against the rape culture that pervades society and pop-culture, Dunham is no stranger to making an argument against these issues. There is plenty of gripes that one could take with the 'Famous' video, for example Rihanna is laying next to Chris Brown who infamously hit her after the 2009 Grammy Awards. Whether or not this is an expression of West art or merely an excuse to attract the limelight is your personal opinion.
'Famous' is currently only available on TIDAL but the full 10 minute video should be available on YouTube in the coming weeks for you to deliver your verdict.
