Following the success of her debut EP 'In All Fairness...' - which reached #1 on the Irish iTunes chart - Cork alt-pop artist Lenii is releasing the project's final, fiery music video.
23-year-old singer-songwriter and producer Lenii has had a rollercoaster 2020, and is closing it out with a bang.
Since studying at Dubspot, she has written and produced for many developing and established acts, but her own music is now entering the main stage in both the US and her homeland of Ireland.
Inspired by the power of the #MeToo Movement, and driven by her own experiences, 'SLIP' is unapologetically centred around the topic of sexism in the music industry and society in general.
Alongside the music video release, Cork-born artist Lenii plans to interview several female artists, producers and writers about their own experiences of sexism in an IGTV series.
Shot in Dublin with the help of radio and TV personality Stephen Byrne and edited by Lenii herself, the video is full of not-so-subtle innuendos, aimed at making the viewer "just uncomfortable enough to think a bit deeper into the message of the song".

Between licking a snake and covering herself in a mystery liquid from a symbolically flowery teapot, she doesn't hold back in shouting about the obstacles women face daily, exuding her trademark fearless energy.
Lenii's final release of 2020 drops the usually sarcastic humour to focus on a more serious topic that hits her hard as a female producer, showcasing her impressive versatility in the process.
“With the 'SLIP' video, I wanted to make people just uncomfortable enough to think a bit deeper into the message of the song," Lenii said about the track's visuals.
"I was afraid I might have salmonella for a week after shooting it but it was for the art!"
"As the writer, producer and performer of the music (and director and editor of my video ideas), I get the final say – but for so long I have had to compromise my vision to make other people happy. I think every single girl, or female-identifying person, on the planet can relate to the feelings that inspired the song 'SLIP'. It’s basically a big “f**k you” to all the people who have made me feel less-than, simply for being a girl."

Her recent Hot Press Lockdown Sessions' Y&E Series performance was given a rave review, so we can't wait to see what Lenii's 2021 brings us.
