The Texas crooner extends his story in 'Laredo' on his smooth new track. Listen below.
Leon Bridges today releases his new track 'Laredo', offering another lush taster from his forthcoming self-titled LP, Leon, which drops on 4th October via Columbia Records.
The latest single is a smooth cut, as expected from the infectious '60s soul incarnate, that finds Leon intoxicated by a stint down south with his lady from Laredo, Texas, leaving him pining for another night together. 'Laredo' follows the release of the placid lead single from Leon, 'Peaceful Place'.
"This track is a nightlife vibe. A down-tempo, rocksteady homage to those moments when life slows down and all that matters is being in the now," Bridges says of the new track. "I’m throwin’ it back to where it began, embracing my roots and telling stories that are as real as the places I call home.
"‘Laredo’ is more than just a song; it's a journey back to the roots, a return to what truly matters. After years of searching for inspiration across the globe, I found myself drawn back to the border town memories that shaped me.”

Recorded and produced by Ian Fitchuk (Kacey Musgraves, Maggie Rogers) at El Desierto on the outskirts of Mexico City with co-production from Daniel Tashian (Kacey Musgraves) in Nashville, Leon features a collection of 13 handwoven tracks that spotlight the continued magnetism of Bridges' signature lyrical storytelling and organic genre alchemy. Six years in the making, this record is unmistakably Leon.
