In the face of stiff competition from Ollie Murs and RobbieWilliams, the late, great Leonard Cohen has stolen the Number One slot.
Leonard Cohen is the dominant figure in the Irish charts this week. In all, he has five albums in the Irish top 30, with his latest album regaining the summit, as news of his death hit home with fans. Last week, the acclaimed You Want it Darker had slipped down to No.2 on the Irish charts, but this week, it has jumped back to the top, a plethora of heavyweight releases notwithstanding.
Meanwhile, his Greatest Hits is at No.3; The Essential Leonard Cohen is at No. 5; Live In Dublin is at No.17; and Popular Problems is at No.21; . Cohen passed away on November 7, only weeks after the release of his final album. But even in the afterlife, the master of song triumphs.
Racing into the charts for the first time at No. 2 is the album24 HRS by diminutive English star Olly Murs. Another fresh face this week is Emeli Sandé's powerful new record Long Live the Angels.

Previously at the top of the charts, Robbie Williams drops to fourth place with The Heavy Entertainment Show, and Nathan Carter's Beautiful Life remains at No. 10.
