Capaldi was scheduled to appear at FM104′s The Gig at The Olympia Theatre on Monday night, but the show has now been postponed to an unconfirmed date.
Singer Lewis Capaldi has cancelled a run of live shows over the next to weeks to “rest and recover”, following a “full on” schedule of touring over the previous few months.
The Brit Award-winning singer apologised to his fans in an Instagram post on Monday, explaining that he is "struggling" after a busy few months which saw him release his chart-topping second studio album, Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent.
Capaldi announced that he will cancel all shows until he performs at Glastonbury later this month, among them being FM104's The Gig due to take place yesterday on Monday night in the Olympia Theatre. The concert was being held in aid of the ISPCC, which helps raise funds for vulnerable youth in Ireland.
FM104 had made the decision to postpone the gig to an unconfirmed date, stating that Capaldi was unable to perform due to illness. Organisers said the singer will be making a generous personal donation of £50,000 to the ISPCC.

Capaldi posted a statement for his fans on Twitter and Instagram, stating it was a message “that hurts me a lot to type”.
In the statement, Capaldi said: “This is a really difficult message, and one that hurts me a lot to have to type, but I'm really sorry to say that I'm going to have to cancel all commitments from now until I play Glastonbury on June 24th."
"The last few months have been full on both mentally and physically I haven't been home properly since Christmas and at the moment I'm struggling to get to grips with it all.
“I need to take a moment to rest and recover, to be at my best and ready for Glastonbury and all of the other incredible shows coming up so that I'm able to continue doing what I love for a long time to come. I need to take these three weeks to be Lewis from Glasgow for a bit, spend some time with my family and friends and do normal life things that are an important part of me feeling better. I hope everyone understands,” the Scottish star said.

The singer has been open and honest with listeners about his mental health and Tourette's diagnosis have affected his performing, recently admitting that his mental health issues were a direct symptom of his job.
Capaldi's intimate, all-access Netflix documentary Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now delved into the effect his fame and career were having on his mental health. During the programme, Capaldi revealed his diagnosis of Tourette's Syndrome, which explained the physical jerks he was experiencing and had put down to a side effect of anxiety.
Discussing the documentary with Hot Press, Capaldi said "The concept was 'me on stage partying in front of thousands of people and generally having a fucking amazing time', but that's not how it turned out.
"If I'd known that it was going to be an exposé of my mental health, I probably wouldn't have done it, but I'm so happy we did because it's been very cathartic. I feel weirdly sort of at peace with it all. The responses I've been seeing have been pretty incredible."
Capaldi is due to play the Glastonbury Festival on 24 June, and is due to headline Electric Picnic in September.
