Interviewed in the current Hot Press, Capaldi hits number one with combined sales of 6,389.
It may bear the characteristically self-effacing title Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent, but Lewis Capaldi's debut album is already a major hit, having debuted atop the Irish charts with combined sales of 6,389, which make it the fastest selling album of the decade here by a male artist.
The delighted Scottish star told OfficialCharts.com/Ireland: “My album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent is the Number 1 album in Ireland. I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who went out and bought it. That’s mad. I cannot wait to come back over. Get ready for a big kiss, every single last one of you.”
You can read more from the boy Capaldi in the new issue of Hot Press, with the freshly minted chart-topper shooting the breeze with Ed Power.

Meanwhile on the singles charts, there's yet more good news for the all-conquering Capaldi, with the Scottish star having – wait for it – THREE tracks in the top ten, including 'Hold Me While You Wait' at number two, which is held of the top spot by Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber's 'Don't Care', which debuts at number one.
