Scottish singer-songwriter vs Britpop legend
The feud between Lewis Capaldi and Noel Gallagher is as random as it is entertaining. After bantering for weeks, the two finally met at Madrid's Mad Cool Festival last weekend, an encounter that Capaldi recalls in an interview with BBC Scotland.
But first, let's see how the feud unfolded: It all started with Noel Gallagher complaining about the current music scene, calling it "fucking wank" in an interview with Radio X before explicitly calling out Lewis Capaldi.
The Scottish singer then included Gallagher's comments in his Glastonbury set while sporting a t-shirt with the face of the Oasis star. Gallagher went on to call Capaldi a "fucking Chewbacca" in an interview with Variety, which lead to Capaldi wearing a mask of the famous Star Wars character on stage.

So last weekend, the two finally met. In an interview with BBC Scotland, Capaldi recalls the encounter: "I gave him a big hug and whispered in his ear: 'It's gonna be OK'. He was wriggling but I pinned him and said: 'Noel!, I'm here and it's gonna be fine!'".
The singer also explains that the feud was all fun and games: "It's all a good laugh, isn't it? It's very funny and you can't take it seriously. He doesn't care, I'm not bothered." He went on to promote Noel Gallagher's EP Black Star Dancing, stating: "It's a lovely, lovely piece of work."
Meanwhile, Lewis Capaldi's own single 'Someone You Loved' was comfirmed as Ireland's biggest song of 2019 so far.
