Liam Gallagher announces the release date of his new album and shares the music video for 'Shockwave'
The Cork-bound artist's new album is scheduled to be released later this year.
Liam Gallagher has taken to social media to announce the release date of his highly anticipated second solo LP, Why Me? Why Not.
In an video posted to his Instagram account, the former Oasis frontman has revealed that the album is available to pre-order now, and will arrive on September 20.
As well as being available to pre-order digitally from his website, Why Me? Why Not will also be released on exclusive coloured vinyl, deluxe CD and in a special collector edition bundle. The final album artwork is expected to be revealed soon.
Gallagher finished recording the album back in April. It follows 2017's As You Were, described by Hot Press's Ed Power as a "double punch of autumnal contemplation and peerless pop swagger."
He shared the first taste of the new project earlier this month, with the release of lead single 'Shockwave'. Watch the new music video for the track, directed by Francois Rousselet, below:
Later this month, Gallagher makes his return to Ireland with a headline gig at Cork's Irish Independent Park, where he's likely to air out plenty of new material from the upcoming album.
Irish director Gavin Fitzgerald also captures the Mancunian rocker's solo career in his new documentary, As It Was, showing at Dublin's Light House Cinema and Galway's Pálás this Saturday.
