“I don’t make the rules," the singer-songwriter said. "Get off my case.”
Liam Gallagher has issued a response on X/Twitter to Ticketmaster's cancellation of thousands of tickets for the Oasis reunion. He has also weighed in on whether the tour will feature any special guests.
Tickets for the long-awaited UK & Ireland Oasis stadium tour went on sale last August. Many of them ended on resale sites despite efforts to prevent inflated tout reselling.
At the time, Live Nation and SJM—the band's promoters—told BBC File on 4 that more than 50,000 tickets for the UK/Ireland tour would be cancelled due to being listed on unauthorised platforms.
Last weekend, Ticketmaster cancelled those tickets. However, many fans have taken to social media to complain about the situation, claiming their tickets have been wrongfully cancelled.
"I don’t make the rules," Gallagher wrote on his X/Twitter account, replying to a fan asking him about the situation. "We're trying to do the right thing, it is what it is, I’m the singer, get off my case."

Ticketmaster have told NME that affected fans should refer to the 'Oasis Refund FAQ' page. "For ticket purchasers who believe they have had tickets refunded in error, refer to the email sent by the relevant agent when informed," a spokesperson said.
The platform has also been contacting some ticket holders to inform them that their tickets have been refunded as “it has been identified that bots were used to make (the) purchase,” and hence the ticket “violate(s) the tour’s terms and conditions”.
"Fans have been strongly advised by all parties not to purchase tickets from unauthorised resale sites, to protect them from fraud or refunding," reads the message released by Ticketmaster.
The controversy about the tickets sale back in August 2024 has driven the UK government to announce a price-cap on tickets to prevent touts from re-selling at inflated prices.
However, touts were not the only element under scrutiny in the selling process. Both the platform and the band were criticised for using "dynamic pricing," a practice that involves the increase of the tickets' price, sometimes by hundreds of pounds, depending on demand.

Questions were raised on whether the practice breaches consumer law. There are two different ongoing investigations on the topic, one by the European Commission and the other by the UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).
On a different note, the band's lead singer responded to a fan asking him whether there would be any supporting acts. "None of that nonsense," he wrote.
This comment follows last year's confirmation, after much speculation, that both the indie band Cast and Richard Ashcroft, The Verve's former lead singer, would be supporting the UK & Ireland shows.
