Lily Allen has revealed that she's written in her forthcoming memoir about paying for sex with female call girls while on tour back in 2014, following the breakdown of her marriage to Sam Cooper.

"I'm not proud, but I'm not ashamed," Lily Allen revealed on Instagram. "I slept with female escorts when I was on tour, cause I was lost and lonely and looking for something."

Lily Allen, who points out that she no longer pays for sex, explained that she had rendezvouses with female escorts back in 2014 when promoting her album Sheezus. As well as dealing with the break-up of her marriage, Lilly Allen was also, at time, suffering from post-natal depression after the birth of her second daughter, Marnie.

So far her confession has received just under 40,000 likes on Instagram. Lilly has written about paying for prostitutes in her upcoming autobiography entitled My Thoughts Exactly, but said she felt forced to tell-all now after being tipped off that the Mail newspaper was about to run with the story.

She wrote: "In my book My Thoughts Exactly’ (out on 20th Sept) I detail some stuff from my dark days, around the Sheezus era. I slept with female escorts when I was on tour, cause I was lost and lonely and looking for something. I’m not proud, but I’m not ashamed. I don’t do it anymore. The Mail are gonna run with the story tomorrow cause someone leaked it, and they’re bound to make sound worse than it was. Just wanted to give you Er, the ‘heads up’."
