Limerick will showcase new Irish talent next week and the lucky audience will be charged zilch for the pleasure.
This free offering is third in a series of Green and Live showcase gigs. This one will see Monaghan band Sanzkrit, Cork group Ladydoll and Limerick’s own Vice City, take to the stage in Dolan’s on May 29.
The showcases are prompted by the Limerick radio show Green and Live. The show’s presenter Alan Jacques welcomes any Irish acts to send him what they’ve got, “I am now looking for Irish artists (all genres) to send me their CDs and demos and I will gladly play them on the show - unless, of course, you are total and utter shite.”
Green and Live acoustic sessions in the past have included contributions from such acts as Josh Ritter, Foy Vance and The Frank and Walters. The live sessions continue to promote Irish music and are beginning to follow suit in popularity.
