On May 31st, Irish singer-songwriter Lisa Hannigan is set to release a live album with contemporary-classical orchestra s t a r g a z e.
Lisa Hannigan and s t a r g a z e conductor André de Ridder were first brought together in a 2015 chance-encounter at Cork's Sounds From A Safe Harbour Festival. The following summer, Hannigan and s t a r g a z e appeared at Berlin's PEOPLE Festival in an inaugural performance together that would spark fruitful collaborations to come.
Hannigan's sparse and ethereal folk music proved a spectacular combination with s t a r g a z e orchestra's experimental approach to both classical and pop music. The two embarked on a run of shows across select European festivals, as well as more recently at London's Barbican and Dublin's National Concert Hall.
For those yet to experience the mesmerizing live show, their recent performance at the National Concert Hall last October is set for release in the shape of Live In Dublin, a 14-track live album, which also includes new song ‘Bookmark’.
Lisa Hannigan's impressive music career spans 17 years, with award nominations from the Mercury prize, Ireland's Choice and the Meteor Music Awards. Her third album, 2016's At Swim, was critically praised for Hannigan's delicate vocals and soft-plucked guitars.
