After a one-year hiatus, Monaghan hip-hop artist Active, aka Max Skiba is back with 'Food Chain'.

He reveals that the long-awaited single was "inspired by criticisms, and a small town mentality which continues to tell me, 'You shouldn't be a rapper'."

'Food Chain' kicks off a string of single releases lined up over the coming weeks, as Active continues to build up a name on the homegrown music scene.

Born in Poland and raised in Monaghan, Active has carved out his own unique path in Irish hip-hop, drawing influence from the likes of Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Logic and Russ. Following the release of 'Cry For Me', 'No Object' and 'Stand' last year, 'Food Chain' marks a vibrant new direction in Active's career.
