Part of the burgeoning Irish indie-folk scene, the Dubliner's music is inspired by the likes of Laura Marling and Fleetwood Mac.
Amy Ellen’s highly-anticipated debut EP Only You Will Know has landed today, encompassing a range of previous single releases alongside a bonus title track.
Blending influences from Kurt Vile and Mazzy Star, 'Only You Will Know' sums up the sound of Amy’s previous singles, reflecting her folk roots and her musical influences.
After sharing the stage with Emma Langford at Whelan's gig 'All In This Together' and opening for Fields in 2019, Amy Ellen sold out a headline show to release her debut single, 'My Heart’.
Steadily building up her fanbase ever since, Ellen later shared 2020 singles 'In the Dark', 'It's Time' and 2021's 'This Life'.
Receiving airplay from Radio Nova, Dublin City FM, Dublin South FM and 8Radio; the singer-songwriter's pop rock instrumentation and punchy lyrics have garnered her deserved attention from all angles.
Instrumentally, Amy Ellen's new EP features punchy '90s rock elements, a contrast from Amy’s more recent, acoustic driven songs. Her soft vocals and harmonies echo her folk roots, while guitar riffs and heavier drums bring in the pop-rock elements to the tracks.

“It was my first experience recording with a band, way back in 2019!" Amy told Hot Press. "I was equally excited as I was nervous about releasing music for the first time! Although I feel I have grown a lot as a songwriter since the recording, I am so proud of the work we put in and the result that came from it."
“It was so exciting to see the parts come together," Amy adds.
"These songs represent a time in my life when I was finding my sound as an artist. I believed each track deserved attention, it made sense to release them as singles. There is a recurring lyrical theme across the songs which is that no one knows how it feels to be you, so that just felt right to me.”
