Listen to the heartwarming track below.
Indie pop/rock musician Gavin Murphy contrasts the bittersweet tones of his recent hit 'The Sound of Heartbreak' with warm feelings of nostalgia in his newest single, 'Alive'. The perfect sunrise anthem, 'Alive' reminds us that "appreciating the simple pleasures in life and reflecting upon good memories can help us through difficult times.”
Currently on the RTÉ Radio 1 Recommends List, the musical themes in 'Alive' are consistent with Muphy's debut album '45 RPM'. Tadhg Larabee spoke of the album, expressing that "though Murphy’s lyrics have a melancholy edge, his songs are smooth and summery – tunes that put you on a half-remembered beach, the sea wind in your hair."
The uplifting new single feels like pulling out an old scrapbook from under the bed and flipping through memories of summers past.
