The single arrives with a video and is featured their vinyl-only new album, Here I Stand.
Dublin outfit Glimmermen have arrived back on the scene with their third album, Here I Stand, out now exclusively on vinyl via Grey Slate Records. The record's leading single, "It's Nice (when people accept you for who you are)," is available to stream on the group's Bandcamp page. The playful track, complete with a triumphant, horn-filled chorus, comes with a tongue-in-cheek video that finds the band members in 1960s Ireland trying to boost the popularity of their single with the help of some less-than-legal methods.
Over three years since the release of their last album, 2016's Breakin' Out, Glimmermen return with an 11-track collection of songs that "draw parallels with life's many dysfunctional communication platforms and the struggle to make sense of things within and without," according to a press release from the band. Like Breakin' Out, Here I Stand was recorded at The Meadow in Co. Wicklow by The Deaf Brothers. Themes of love and loss interweave with wide-eyed melodies on the record, and the band's musical scaffolding of guitar, bass, drums and brass delivers an elevational, upbeat bunch of singable songs.
