Belfast trio THVS have shared their new single 'Palisades' ahead of the video's release on Friday.
Born out of frustration and desire, THVS formed in 2014 and spent the next four years honing in on their unique 'heavy pop' sound, earning themselves a reputation for their energetic, sweaty and cathartic live shows in the process.
'Palisades' offers an exhibition of this sound it's purest form. Sounding "like every band from the 90s that never got signed to a major label" (their words, not ours!), ‘Palisades’ marks a change in sound and direction for the band, moving away from their previous post-hardcore squeals and towards their aforementioned 'heavy pop' sound.
Sonically ‘Palisades’ sees the band flirt with the loud-quiet-loud dynamic, tension and release, before launching into a distortion-turned-to-11 chorus. Lyrically the song explores the idea of two people meeting, becoming inseparable, building their own world around them, having their own language and not letting anyone in on the secret.
The song acts as a teaser ahead of the band's forthcoming album, Fevers, which is due to be released on October 7th.
