The rising star has continued her strong start to the year with her second single.
Belfast alt-pop artist, Hex Hue (real name Katie Richardson), is back with a new single, ‘Shrink’.
In a follow-up to her last track released in May, ‘Aquiver’, she’s dropped an emotional tune co-produced by herself and Ryan McGroarty of Beauty Sleep.
The ballad, which channels the spirit of Florence + The Machine’s work, features pounding drums and anthemic vocal stylings from the Northern Irish musician, singing about the importance of being herself.
“When I wrote ‘Shrink’, it was a bit of a plea and an outcry to myself,” she reveals.
“I realised I was shrinking myself to fit in with others’ ideas of what I should be - both in my work and in my personal life.”

“As humans I think we often try to shrink ourselves to fit into the moulds of others’ expectations. This song is about breaking out of those moulds. Taking up whatever space you want and however much of it you want.”
