A brand new album Why Me? Why Not will follow later this year.
The highly anticipated leading single of Liam Gallagher's second solo album is out now.
'Shockwave' was played to a widely receptible crowd in London earlier this week but is now officially released to the wider public.
The former Oasis front-man worked on the track with long-time collaborator Andrew Wyatt, who won the Academy Award this year for Best Original Song as co-writer of ‘Shallow’ from the film A Star Is Born and produced by Greg Kurstin, a multiple Grammy Award winner.
'Shockwave' is an indicator that his upcoming album, Why Me? Why Not is a carry on of his debut, inspired from classic rock 'n' roll with snaring guitars and a clamouring harmonica.

It's sure to ride the radio airwaves throughout the summer.
A hectic week for Gallagher, his documentary film As It Was premiered last night, it follows his emergence as a solo star after the Oasis split.
Director of the film, Charlie Lightening, told NME that the upcoming album will be Liam's answer to Oasis' iconic record What's The Story (Morning Glory).
