Lorde said the new tracks ‘Helen Of Troy’ and ‘Hold No Grudge’ are “both big tunes.”
Lorde has dropped two bonus tracks called ‘Helen Of Troy’ and ‘Hold No Grudge’ from the deluxe version of Solar Power.
“These songs were fun explorations on the album journey,” said the singer about the songs. “They didn’t quite fit into the tracklist for whatever reason but they’re both big tunes.”
The singer elaborated on 'Helen Of Troy,' saying: "We wrote it super quickly in the tiniest room at Westlake where we did a bunch of Melo and it was fun the whole time. It’s super off the cuff lyrically, almost ad-libbed, and you can hear me starting to figure out some album themes..."
Lorde — whose real name is Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor — said that ‘Hold No Grudge’ “is a sort of composite portrait of when relationships turn sour, being trapped in the ice but remembering the warmth.”
The 24-year-old released her latest album Solar Power in August to critical acclaim. Lorde also dropped a music video for ‘Fallen Fruit’ taken from the LP earlier this week which touched on the perils of climate change.
In a recent interview with Hot Press the pop star spoke about her exploration of climate change on her latest album:

"It’s one of the primary focuses of my life, but it was important to me to make something that felt celebratory, and that matched how I feel when I’m outside. I didn’t want to provide a soundtrack for the Titanic sinking. I don’t think I would enjoy listening to that record, but the subject is very much in there.”
“There’s a simmering undertone, I would say — there are lots of lyrical references to a mythical day in the future, where the shit has hit the fan and we’ve had to escape to elsewhere.
“But it was really interesting that I had these profoundly joyful experiences in nature, followed by that feeling of, ‘Oh god, this is at risk.’ That definitely made for a one-two punch, so the album is very much a combination of those two things,” she added.
