The Lost Brothers - Oisin Leech from Meath and Mark McCausland from Omagh - have unveiled their second new Christmas video as they continue into their extensive winter tour. The video for 'Seven Days Before Christmas' is directed by Zoe Genders and Dan Conway, who have recently worked on projects with the likes of Bjork and Gomez. “We went for a 50's/60's Bing Crosby TV Show vibe with added Christmas!” says Zoe Genders.
'Seven Days Before Christmas' is a brand new song written and recorded by The Lost Brothers in the last few weeks. It's an earworm of a bluesy-folk tune, and it features a string arrangement by Steve Wickham of The Waterboys and brass by Paul Brainard (The Eels, M Ward). It also features members of O Emperor.
“The song is an attempt at a gothic Christmas romance” says Oisín. "It’s about two pals of ours who celebrate their engagement every Christmas...but it very nearly didn’t happen. Christmas can be complicated."
The song is featured on the new mini-album Keep Christmas In The Heart, released-just last week ahead of The Lost Brothers Christmas Tour which continues until December 23.
Lost Brothers play Cork on Friday Dec 21st for Live At St Luke’s. It will be a full band show with members of O Emperor and The Waterboys. December 23rd will then see them gig Westport’s Town Hall, where support will be from Mayo’s Seamus Fogarty.
