The lead single off Woods' upcoming album OST is ambient and calming, contrasted by intense drum textures.
Dublin-based producer Marcus Woods has just released a new single titled 'Dain Yoon,' to be featured on his upcoming album OST.
'Dain Yoon', inspired the South Korean illusion artist of the same name, is an immersive and ambient track. The ambiances are calming, contrasted by intense drum textures.
Of the track, he says: "I was heavily inspired by Dain’s work and her ability to create these illusions and multiple faces with her makeup, it drove me to create the track with the idea of a track that constantly evolved with the textures and the effects on the drums over the simple ambience.’’
The 19-year-old artist blends trap, ambient and experimental genres. He aims to find a middle ground in between ambient, lush sounds and hard hitting drum patterns, giving the listener a feeling of serenity, yet keeping them in check with fast paced drums and 808s fused with the atmospheric sounds and textures.
OST has no release date yet, but Woods says it has already been in the works for a year.

"The project is essentially an OST (original soundtrack) of what I’ve been through from the start of 2019 up until I feel the project is complete, there’s no set release date as of yet. I try to convey my emotions in my music as a stress relief, as I suffer with anxiety," he says.
