Jazz artist spreads her music to the HearOne stage.
Rising British-Nigerian star, NC Grey, will give it her all at the HearOne Productions event next month. Local Irish musicians who are fairly new to the industry are lined up for an evening of creativity and excitement.
Grey has already sung at the marvelous Magistorium in Dublin, located on the same site as the legendary McGonagles. The theatre-like venue supports all types of acts, including jazz cabaret and world music. You may have also heard NC Grey if you attended Africa Day 2016, where she sang on the main stage. This past year Grey supported the hip-hop band Loud Motive at Whelan's. And now, she'll get a chance to shine in her own light at the HearOne live event this December.
Amy Winehouse, Nina Simone, and Sade Adu are among Grey's influences. Since the age of 7, she has been inspired to sing and write songs, melding influences from jazz, swing, soul and Motown. Hints of gospel undertones can be attributed to her days singing in the church choir.
You can catch her live on Tuesday, December 6 at Whelan's in Dublin from 8:30pm onwards! No need to worry about the cost; tickets are free!
