Electro-pop musician Cat Turner's latest track ‘Easier', explores the love-drunk complexities of modern relationships.
Since bursting onto the scene last year, Cat Turner has been steadily reeling in fans with her self-produced ‘Goth-Pop’. In this short time, the Galway singer/producer has been honing her sound and has earned her place in festivals such as Electric Picnic in addition to supporting fellow Irish ones to watch, Pillow Queens. Her stunning debut EP ‘Contrast’ – featuring the haunting ‘Waster’- was released in March this year.
Now she releases her latest single, ‘Easier’, a revelry in pleasurable displeasure.
Through a perfect mixture of synth beats, edgy vibes and powerful vocals, the track explores the love-drunk atmosphere of a young couple through the ups and downs of their relationship. From loving affection to fights and make-up sex, we are taken on a journey through the complexities of love in all its manifestations. The undertones of menace running throughout the track are matched by lyrics that are bold and honest and vocals that are powerfully defiant. At once universal and devastatingly personal, ‘Easier’ is a foray into the darker side of love.
