The English singer-songwriter shares ‘Mountain to Move.’
Nick Mulvey gave fans a taste of his upcoming album, Wake Up Now with the release of ‘Mountain to Move.’ The optimistic, acoustic song comes three years after Mulvey’s last solo album, First Mind. Mulvey will be coming to the Button Factory in Dublin on September 28, just 20 days after the album release.
Mountain To Move was written over time, probably over a year.. (https://t.co/xvImp2uSbP) You can listen to it now... https://t.co/nu97Vn18nh pic.twitter.com/TA6Ytjy9q6

The songwriter shared with his fans an explanation behind the lyrics, writing, ‘Some songs come to me really quickly — ‘Mountain To Move’ isn’t one of them….So, I was coming to the end of the tour and inevitably looking back over the last couple of years with all these feelings of frustration, and disillusionment at how high my expectations had become. We had reached the west coast of America, the band had gone home and it was just me and Isadora traveling between gigs in California. Something about the sky, the landscapes and the space allowed my feelings to catch up with me. I realised I had been lost in comparison - and that was really the beginning of the lyrics.”

The title of Mulvey’s upcoming September album comes from the chorus to ‘Mountain Man.’ In the same statement, Mulvey writes, “The chorus came last. Maybe because I was slightly scared of saying it- so I want to be clear about something - ‘wake up now’ is more of a message to myself, a reminder, it’s not about preaching to you. It’s also one of those phrases that is a reflection of what the reader wants it to be - for some people ‘wake up now’ is politically charged, or about climate change, and for others it might just be a song about breakfast - it can be different for me every day.“
