Listen to our 'Hot for 2020' act's new release below.
Following the success of 'Take Time' last month, Waterford rapper Pat Lagoon has shared his highly anticipated new EP, Box Room.
“The concept of Box Room is about how I have always seemed to express myself inside the four walls of my bedroom, whether it was emotionally, physically or just lamenting over things that could or could not happen," The Goon explains. "It’s funny because I live away from home for the majority of the year, so my room isn’t really my room but it’s somewhere I can think without the thought of judgement or ridicule."
Over the last two years, the Anomaly rapper has crossed over from Soundcloud obscurity to a formidable force on the Irish music scene, with releases that swing effortlessly between hip-house, old school rap and trap.
“I started working on the songs before my final exams of second year, around the time I had the support slot for Token," he reveals. "'Problem' and 'Fears' were created by myself and my childhood friend TunesOnTick. When it comes to the music he’s known me the longest but music forged a stronger friendship. 'Digital Love' was produced by Wongy – this man made the whole EP possible with his mixing and mastering and production. I think everyone can relate to this song for so many reasons unknown but the bright vocals and melodic chorus from the upcoming Cork artist Morethan really brings the track to life in ways I can’t describe.

"The single 'Take Time' tries to calm down the anxiousness in the EP by introducing the elements of love interests and more going on outside the room," he continues. "It was produced by Cody Rounds aka Cxdy of Internet Money. LHK has the honours in closing the door of the Box Room with the tracks 'Out the Globe' featuring rising Cardiff rapper BENZY that oozes self-confidence and belief; and the closing track, 'Smooth With It', released in January to kickstart 2020 with it’s funk-rap basslines and catchiness.”
