LISTEN: Sam Smith's sultry new single 'Gimme' features Jessie Reyez and Koffee
Sam Smith's new album GLORIA lands at the end of this month via Universal.
Sam Smith has released their latest single ‘Gimme’, featuring Jamaican star Koffee and Canadian R&B singer Jessie Reyez.
‘Gimme’ serves as a prelude to their upcoming album Gloria, set for release on 27th January, which promises to be a fresh take on Smith’s established sound.
In a statement released alongside the single, Smith said they wanted to create a track that represented their own sexual perspective. “I’m a sexual person, I like sex. It’s something I’m teaching myself to not be ashamed of,” Smith said. “Me and Jessie were basically drunk, drinking whisky in Jamaica, two in the morning, running around absolutely wasted, like two girlfriends having a laugh.”

Gloria will follow Smith's 2020 album Love Goes, and will also feature a new collaboration with Ed Sheeran.
Next week Smith will be Saturday Night Live's first musical guest of 2023. The first episode of the year airs on 21 January, and will see Aubrey Plaza on hosting duties.
“It feels like emotional, sexual and spiritual liberation,” Smith said of ‘Gloria’ in a statement. “It was beautiful, with this album, to sing freely again. Oddly, it feels like my first-ever record. And it feels like a coming of age.”
GRAMMY nominated single ‘Unholy’ is Sam’s lead album track, alongside 'Love Me More', and their eighth #1 hit. Garnering over one billion streams worldwide, the record was Sam's first Billboard Hot 100 #1 and made history with collaborator Kim Petras as the first nonbinary and transgender artists to hit the top of the charts.
The single dominated the top spot of Spotify and Apple Music’s global charts for over a month after release and caused a viral frenzy on TikTok. Sam is amongst only three other artists who debuted at #1 on the UK Official Charts in 2022; holding 4 weeks at the top.
