Listen: Sam Smith's 'Too Good At Goodbyes' released today
Sam Smith has released his first track since his Oscar-winning Spectre theme 'Writing's On the Wall'.
'Too Good At Goodbyes' is the first single from Smith's forthcoming second album.
In the title, Smith makes the empowered but bitter assertion he's "too good a goodbyes", choosing to sabotage a relationship that is going well as soon as he remembers what it was like being stung before.
The ballad was written with Smith's longtime collaborator Jimmy Napes and songwriting team Stargate.
A video for the single is available on Spotify.
In a recent statement to fans, Smith thanked fans for sticking out the long wait for new music.
"Thank you for being so patient and for letting me have the past year to really escape into my mind & write music so freely," he wrote. "I feel so rejuvenated and have so many stories I can't wait to tell you."
