The release comes ahead of Crow’s new album THREADS, which is loaded with collaborations and set to be released August 30.
As if nine-time GRAMMY award-winner Sheryl Crow wasn’t already a force to be reckoned with, the powerhouse singer has enlisted an array of iconic performers for her forthcoming album of collaborations, THREADS. The featuring artists span generations and genres, with the previously released ‘Redemption Day’ featuring the musical stylings of Johnny Cash.
Brand new track ‘Live Wire’ has been lapping up huge amounts of praise, with Entertainment Weekly rejoicing that, “the track is a swampy, down and dirty blues-tinged rocker with an infectious pop melody.”
Speaking on the collaborative track, Sheryl Crow said, “Mavis Staples means so much more to me than any words I could write about her. I feel like, in many ways, she is the Godmother to Bonnie Raitt. To say that having both of these soulful women on ‘Live Wire’ is a treat would be a huge understatement.”
Touching on the foundation for the album, Crow muses, “As I became a mother, I’ve explored life through my children and seen the greater impact of our actions and voices. This collection is the THREADS of both my inspirations and younger artists carrying the torch for humanity with their stories.”
