Listen to U2's new track for the Sing 2 soundtrack below.
After teasing a snippet of a new track on TikTok earlier this week, U2 have officially released 'Your Song Saved My Life' – which set to feature on the Sing 2 soundtrack.
It's the first new single from U2 since 2019, when they released their collaboration with A.R. Rahman, 'Ahimsa'.
Sing 2, the sequel to the hugely popular 2016 computer-animated film, is out on January 28, 2022. Bono will also feature in the movie as the voice of "lion rock legend Clay Calloway" – an artist "who shut himself away from the world more than a decade ago after the loss of his wife and hasn't been seen since."
Protagonist Buster (voiced by Matthew McConaughey) will embark on a quest to find Clay in the film, "and persuade him to return to the stage."
Other musicians set to lend their voices to Sing 2 include Pharrell Williams and Halsey. You can pre-order the film's soundtrack here.
U2 have contributed to several movie soundtracks over the years – and have been nominated twice in the Best Original Song category at the Academy Awards for ‘The Hands That Built America’ (Gangs of New York, 2003) and ‘Ordinary Love’ (Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom, 2014).
