Ahead of the release of their highly anticipated debut album Fight or Flight, due out on November 20, We March have shared the powerful lead single from the project, 'Bones'.
The new track was inspired by the terminal illness of a loved one, and explores themes of diagnosis, isolation and symptoms of illness, along with the accompanying fear and anger.
“'Bones' is a song for the times we live in, where the population is dealing with similar themes of illness and distress," says songwriter John Paul FitzGerald. "I tried to find catharsis in dealing with these themes head on, and hopefully the listeners will find the same relief that I did.”
The Cork-based band first emerged on the Irish music scene in 2017, and immediately garnered widespread attention for their impactful live shows. We March have built up a reputation for providing a truly unique musical experience – combining adrenaline-fuelled battle cries with moving ballads of loss and life, in a gothic blend of cabaret, jazz, blues, Italian opera, and Arabic folk music.
