Alongside the announcement for her next album, rapper Little Simz released its lead single 'Flood' feat. Obongjayar and Moonchild Sanelly.
Little Simz has announced her sixth album, Lotus, due to release on May 9.
"Setting the tone for May 9th," Little Simz wrote on Instagram. "The first single off my new Album Lotus is out now!"
Lotus is set to be her first album since No Thank You in 2022, following shortly after her EP Drop 7 last year. Ahead of Lotus, the rapper released the LP's lead single, 'Flood'.
The new track features vocals from Nigerian singer Obongjayar and Sout African musician Moonchild Sanelly. The video, which you can watch below, was directed by Salomon Lighthelm.

Earlier this month, the rapper was revealed as the curator of Meltdown Festival 2025 in London, a performing arts festival previously curated by Chaka Khan, Patti Smith, David Bowie, Grace Jones, and other great artists.
Little Simz slowly gained popularity through her first three records - A Curious Tale of Trials + Persons in 2015, Stillness in Wonderland in 2016, and Grey Area in 2019.
Her fourth album, Sometimes I Might Be Introvert, garnered widespread critical acclaim on its release in 2021. In 2022, the record won the Mercury Prize, with Little Simz winning Best New Artist at the BRIT Awards that year.
