The Ambience Affair, We Cut Corners and Windings will take to the stage at Upstairs in Dolan‘s on Thursday December 17
The Ambience Affair released their debut EP, ‘Fragile Things’ earlier this year to rave reviews. The two-piece from Meath/Dublin have a thrilling sound that mixes intense vocal bursts, layers of looped guitars and forceful, driving rhythms. Comprised of Jamie Clarke and Marc Gallagher, The Ambience Affair has already supported the likes of Villagers, Fight Like Apes and Ham Sandwich.
Formerly known as Camogie Lovers, We Cut Corners won the hotly contested JD Set final in Dublin earlier this year. With influences that include Wolf Parade, Bright Eyes and The Clash they have a sound that draws comparison to The White Stripes and Emmy Lou Harris. We Cut Corners released their tantalizing debut EP, ‘Today I Realised I Could Go Home Backwards’ in September.
Completing the line-up of thrilling two-piece acts for Green and Live Sessions 21 is Limerick’s very own gruesome twosome, Windings. The duo’s debut album released in 2005, flits from lo-fi acoustic melodies to scuzzy rock, from woozy instrumentals to ambient electronic pieces, from pure pop to dirgy almost-metal, all of which makes for a truly original and invigorating listening experience.
Green and Live Sessions 21 takes place Upstairs at Dolan’s on Thursday December 17. Doors open at 8pm and admission is free.
