You have to hand it to Beyoncé, Kelly and Michelle. Despite a three-year hiatus and burgeoning solo careers, the massive popularity of the Texas trio trio hasn’t dimmed one whit, although there was the definite sense that this could've been their last date as Destiny’s Child.

Like all their shows, this was one part Las Vegas extravaganza and one part Broadway musical, with heavily choreographed dance routines, endless costume changes and elaborate stage sets, including a revolving dancefloor. That said, the group's appeal is built on catchy R ‘n’ B dance-pop, with hits like ‘Say My Name’, ‘Independent Woman’ and ‘Survivor’ eliciting the most ecstatic response. Audience participation reached a frenzy on the irresistible singalong ‘Bug-A–Boo’, while Beyoncé’s solo hit ‘Crazy In Love’ had them dancing in the aisles. Elsewhere, the new single ‘Soldier’ ("Sol-jah") was accompanied by a spectacular routine involving some very fit looking black dudes. On the downside, the muddy sound in parts of the stadium clearly affected the enjoyment of some (not helped by the noise from a helicopter which circled for much of the first half of the show) while they milked the “Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole” bit for all it was worth during the encore.
