The new edition of the Hot Press Lockdown Sessions' Y&E Series launched earlier this week, with the support of the Department of Media, Tourism, Arts, Culture, Sport and the Gaeltacht.
Although relatively fresh on the scene, April has rapidly established herself as one of the country’s most compelling new voices – as showcased throughout her stunning performance on the Hot Press Lockdown Sessions’ Y&E Series.
Recently crowned the “Best Songwriter in Ireland right now” by Blindboy, April incorporates elements of neo-soul, alt-R&B and bedroom pop to craft a sound that is entirely her own – and perfectly suited to the intimate setting of the Y&E Series.
Joined by Luke on guitar, April's launched her set with the title track from her debut EP, New Conditions, followed by another effortlessly smooth highlight from the project, 'Mean It In The Morning'. The performance also featured sneak previews of tracks from her upcoming EP Luna – which is undoubtedly set to place April on course for stardom on these shores and beyond.
