The DJ and producer handed over breathtaking tunes on Electric Picnic's day 2.
Listening to Black Traffic’s heavy-hitting set, there’s a feeling that this should be listened to somewhere remote – the middle of a forest, perhaps, losing yourself in the density of the sound.
In fairness, though, Electric Picnic’s Terminus stage, located beyond the Salty Dog area, is as close as you can get to feeling like you’re standing in an isolated commune in the middle of nowhere.
Arguably, the setting helps the atmosphere feel more intense, the tent almost completely closed. Being in there, ear-drums vibrating with every note, feels claustrophobic in all the right ways, the music resonating with a newfound intensity all throughout your body, the bass feeling like a profound release.
The place is packed full of enthusiastic fans too – impressive given how removed the area is, and the fact that KNEECAP is filling up the Electric Arena right as Black Traffic hit his first note.

Although the DJ and producer describes himself as an electronic artist, the depth of the set’s bass transports this reviewer, an Alpine native, right back to heavy, illegal techno raves in the middle of the mountains.
All throughout the set, the need to stomp your feet to every beat is overwhelming, as if it is impossible to do anything else with your body as the bass fills you - a testament of an excellently intense techno show.
